We need homes, not short term holiday rentals. 

NSW is in a rental crisis. Sky high rents are forcing people out of their homes and record low vacancy rates mean they have nowhere to go. Houses that would have been rentals being used as Short Term Holiday Letting is just adding fuel to the fire. 

This country was invaded. The sovereignty of First Nations people has never been ceded.

The Greens will commence a state-wide process of truth-telling and healing, on the path to Treaty and self-determination for First Nations people of NSW. We will raise the age of criminal responsibility and keep children with family and community.

People are struggling to keep their head above water because the cost of everything is going up, and real wages have fallen.

The Greens will cut rents, stop unfair evictions, and build affordable homes. We will scrap the public sector wages cap, invest to ensure lower energy prices and ensure that public schools are genuinely free.

Mining and burning coal and gas is the leading cause of the climate crisis. Coal and gas are causing more extreme floods, fires and droughts in NSW.

The Greens don’t take donations fossil fuel industry. We have a plan to keep coal and gas in the ground and make coal and gas corporations pay for the damage they have done to communities and the environment.

Everyone should have the right to a safe, secure and affordable home.

The Greens have a plan to make housing affordable, safe and secure for everyone. We will fund 100% of the Resilient Homes Program, Regulate Short Term Holiday Lets, end unfair no grounds evictions and build enough public and affordable housing so no one is homeless.

Governments have a responsibility to provide high quality comprehensive public education for everyone across pre-school and early childhood education, schools and TAFE, and Universities.

With more Greens in the NSW Parliament, schools and universities will get the resourcing needed to meet all students’ needs, teachers will get the pay and conditions they deserve, and teachers and students will take their rightful place at the heart of all policy decisions.

While billionaires and big corporations reap record profits, the cost of living has skyrocketed and workers’ pay and conditions have gone backwards.

The Greens will give working people more rights, increase wages and guarantee the right to strike.
